Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy
Serena is a keen Physiotherapist dedicated to understanding the complexities of the human body. Her natural insight into human behaviour has helped Serena become one of the leading therapists in her field. This, combined with her dedication to finding the root causes for any problem, ensures a holistic approach to all her management plans.
Since graduating from Curtin University in Western Australia, Serena has enhanced her skills in a busy musculoskeletal clinic treating a wide range of sport injuries and chronic pain conditions. Subsequently, she worked in a private hospital rehabilitating post-operative patients. Here, she gained experience working with oncology and mental health clients. This diverse range of clinical experience led Serena to understand both the biomechanical and lifestyle causes of an injury, and the pathways to prevention.
Serena employs a combination of manual therapies to supplement specialised training programs. Dry needling is one such therapy, along with Pilates and hydrotherapy. She believes in tailoring a specialised exercise program for each of her patients, with targeted goals and outcomes in mind. Serena has a special interest in chronic pain conditions like chronic lower back pain and post-trauma conditions.
When she is not working, Serena enjoys rock climbing, weight training and musical pursuits.
