AHPRA Registered Physiotherapist
Before coming to Singapore, Mark was based in Perth, Australia, where he qualified and worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He had previously qualified with a Bachelor in Exercise and Sports Science, before making a career pivot to physiotherapy and completing a Doctor of Physiotherapy with Curtin University. He is fully registered with the Australian Physiotherapy Council and has now joined Orthomed Physio to share and treat clients with his knowledge and experience. Qualifications: - AHPRA registered physiotherapist; - Doctor of Physiotherapy, Curtin University, Western Australia; - BSc Exercise and Sports Science, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia; - Sports Massage Level 1; - Dry Needling Level 1; Experience: Mark worked as a strength and conditioning coach for many years after completing his BSc in Exercise and Sports Science. Working with sports clubs, schools and organisations to increase sporting performance, he saw success with championship-winning teams across different levels of sport. Parallel to that, he also coached sports up to the international level. Over the course of those careers, Mark felt the need to increase his knowledge about diagnosing injuries and expanding on treatment, management and rehabilitation. Deciding to pivot, he pursued a post-graduate degree and qualified as a Doctor of Physiotherapy. Having come from a strength and conditioning background, Mark is a big proponent of exercise management in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. His philosophy stems from the firm belief that while treatment addresses symptoms, management through exercise and education resolves and prevents causes of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. |
